FUNCTIONAL WELLNESS & COLON HYDROTHERAPY
Sun Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale is a functional wellness clinic that offers advanced therapies such as Colon Hydrotherapy.
Colon Hydrotherapy is the gentle infusion of water into the large intestine for the purpose of cleaning it out. It is a safe and effective procedure that removes waste from the large intestine without the use of drugs or chemicals. Filtered warm water is introduced into the colon with the use of disposable speculums and tubing. The waste is softened and loosened, which results in evacuation through natural peristalsis. The process of inserting water and then allowing the water and waste to be evacuated is repeated several times during a session.
We are dedicated to the client’s maximum level of health.
COLON HYDROTHERAPY SESSION OPTIONS
The closed system has a console that houses built-in controls to regulate water temperature, pressure, and flow. Disposable, single-use packs containing the speculum with obturator and connecting hoses (water line and waste hose) are used with a closed system device. The design of the speculum allows for the attachment of a water line and a waste hose. The water line allows water into the rectum and colon, while the waste hose allows for the drainage of discharging waste from the rectum directly into a viewing tube and then into the sewer, thus creating a closed circuit.
During the Colon Hydrotherapy procedure, the client lies on a treatment table, positioned on their left side, and a speculum is inserted into the rectum. After insertion, the client can reposition their body (lying on their back with feet flat on the table, knees bent).
Discharging waste can be viewed through the waste hose and also through a viewing window on the instrument before it drains into the sewers. It is possible to collect a stool specimen for laboratory testing, should the need arise.
The Open system comes complete with a treatment area for the client to lie on during the procedure. A console houses the plumbing arrangement and controls to regulate water temperature, pressure, and flow. The open system requires the use of a slim rectal nozzle. The tip of the rectal nozzle is inserted into the rectum approximately two inches. The other end is attached to a water inlet source secured to the instrument.
During the procedure, water is allowed into the rectum through the rectal tube during the “filling cycle.” During the “emptying cycle,” the client eliminates the waste directly into a collecting basin that is built into the treatment area. The eliminating water and waste materials drain through a series of hoses and into the sewer. The therapist and client are able to view any material as it makes its way through the hoses.
MEET OUR STAFF
Acupuncture is a 5,000-year-old healing technique used in traditional Chinese medicine. Meridians are a key component of traditional Chinese medicine, as well as other eastern modalities. During the acupuncture treatment, thin needles are inserted into the body on certain points along the Meridians, also known as channels. Although most people believe that acupuncture is only good for pain, acupuncture is actually a complete medical system focused on correcting imbalances within the body.
